WOW!!! What a crazy weekend. This past weekend was crazy. We spent most of the weekend at church. You see we attend one of the 10 largest church here in the Vegas Valley and it just so happens that this weekend they had Retired NFL Quarterback Kurt Warner speaking. On big events I assist our church's traffic team (which my husband and father serve on) by driving golf carts from our main entry to our staff and volunteer lot. When he was not in his class, my little man helped me.
On top of a big weekend at our church, the public park in our neighborhood was having a Grand Re-opening ceremony. You see for at least the last 6 months or so, the public park not to far from our house was closed for renovations. So on Saturday morning they had a huge Grand Re-opening event at the park. The City Mayor was there to cut the ribbon, the supplied lunch for the everyone, the public pool was free all day for swimming, they had different community vendors there giving away free stuff. It was a blast.
My son was one of the lucky children who got to participate in the ceremony. He got to sit on the stage right next to the Mayor. He got to do the Pledge of Allegiance and hold the ribbon while the Mayor cut it.
Even though it was a busy and crazy weekend, we got to spend a lot of time as a family and that is the best part.
